Lawrence, Aaron R.
Aaron R. Lawrence, 16, of Mechanicsville, died April 15, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at the North Cedar High School gymnasium in Stanwood, with the Rev. Barb Krueger officiating. Burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church.
Born June 30, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was the son of Paul and Julie (Fussell) Lawrence. Aaaron was a member of the church, a paper carrier for The Gazette and lifeguard for the Mount Vernon Pool. He was currently working at Koch's sales and service in Mechanicsville. While in high school he was active in choir, cross country, wrestling, basketball, golf, varsity football and varsity baseball. Aaron did a lot of volunteer work around the community and the church. He liked hanging out with his brothers, teasing Sadie and playing whatever sport was in season. Aaron also liked singing goofy songs.
Survivors include his parents, Paul and Julie; three brothers, Joshua (Angela) of Altoona, Jeremy (Kristina) of Waterloo and Ethan of Mechanicsville; his girlfriend, Sadie Holst of Lowden; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by all of his grandparents.
Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence is in charge of arrangements.
