LaWonna Hanson, 63, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016, at her home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
LaWonna was born May 4, 1953, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence Jr. and Anna Mae (Dlouhy) Hanson. She went to school at Washington High School and was co-owner of L.C.S. All Shapes & Sizes Pet Salon, Iowa City, with her daughter.
She is survived by her children, Shane Achenbach (Giovonnte Tate) of Bettendorf and Cassandra Achenbach of Iowa City; mother, Anna Mae Hanson of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Sophia, Andrew, Aliyah, Alexander, Akayla, Alexus, Alan, Ayvin and Alizae; and siblings, Lyla (Brett) Johnson and Lyle (Lori) Hanson, both of Cedar Rapids, and Larry (Jenny) Hanson of Fairfax.
LaWonna was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Hanson Jr.
LaWonna loved to paint, fish, camp and watch TV. She also loved all of her grandchildren very much.
