LAVONNE "BONNIE" NICHOLS

LaVonne E. "Bonnie" Nichols, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1935, in Waterloo, the daughter of Henry and Helen (Schroeder) Mixdorf. On Feb. 11, 1960, Bonnie was united in marriage to John B. "Jack" Nichols in Waterloo. Jack died on Jan. 15, 2005.
Bonnie is survived by a daughter, Ann (Tony) Carter of Swisher; a son, David (Chris) Nichols of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren, Spencer Carter, Gabi Carter, Alec Nichols and Olivia Nichols; and a sister, Jean (Dick) Gates of West Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a sister.
Bonnie was an avid fan of Iowa State University athletics and enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events.
Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or the American Heart Association.
