LaVonne E. Hudson, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Hiawatha Care Center after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Schultz of Hiawatha; two sons, Lynn (Cindy) of Cedar Rapids and Loni (Anneliese) of Hiawatha; and one brother, Verle (Janice) Miller of Cedar Rapids. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Angela Naylor of Harrogate, U.K., Victoria Campbell of Lapeer, Mich., and Amanda and David Hudson; and two great-great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Lindsay.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
LaVonne was born April 21, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Samuel and Gladys Phelps Miller. She married Robert D. Hudson on Nov. 21, 1948, in Marion. Bob passed away in 2008. LaVonne worked in customer service at Sears and retired from there after more than 30 years of service.
She enjoyed travel, antiques, going to the casino, her cats and especially spending time with her beloved family.
Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
