LaVonne G. Carlson, 100, of Moberly, Mo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at Ravenwood Assisted Living in Moberly.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Randy) Mathes of Moberly; her grandchildren, Lori (Ted) Soojian, Martin (Genesis) Swanson, Anna Swanson and her friend Ben, Michael (Patty) Mathes, Melissa Mathes, Nicole (Michael) Ryan and Amanda Mathes; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and a sister, Gen.
LaVonne was born on Oct. 4, 1917, in Cresco, the daughter of Jake and Minnie Day Streeter. She married Roy S. Carlson on Aug. 24, 1940, in Cedar Rapids. Roy passed away in 1973. LaVonne worked at FMC for many years and retired from there after many years of service.
She was a member of the Coates Street Presbyterian Church, the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed farming, quilting and yard work, especially tending to her flowers. LaVonne forever will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
