LaVonne Joyce Brockshus passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Windmill Manor in Coralville at the age of 74 years.
LaVonne was born Dec. 10, 1940, in Williamsburg,
Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Adella (Schwarting) Brockshus. She attended St. John Parochial School and graduated from Williamsburg High School. She worked at numerous places, including an implement dealership in Oxford and Woolworth's in Iowa City. She retired from Osco Drug in Iowa City.
LaVonne was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Homestead. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and attending craft shows.
She is survived by her sister, Janice (Jim) Cerveny of Swisher; a niece, Ann (Dan) Parsons of Wilton; a nephew, Darren (Kristy) Cerveny of Moscow; and five great-nieces and great-nephews, Karen and Corey Parsons and Ryan, Amira and Sophia Cerveny.
She was preceded by her parents.
Celebra-tion of Life services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Homestead. Pastor Terry Small will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until service time at the church.
A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Interparish School.
