LaVon M. Duggan, 90, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 27, 2016, at Friendship Village Pavillion.
She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Waterloo, daughter of Harold and Delphine Pfiffner Pendergast. She married Lawrence Duggan on May 1, 1948, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo. He died Oct. 3, 2013.
LaVon graduated from Sacred Heart School in Waterloo in 1945. She was employed with Rath Packing Co. and later the Black Hawk Tennis Club, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Barb) Duggan of Waterloo and Kevin (Mary Ann) Duggan of Robins; two daughters, Peggy Duggan-LaCoste and Barb Cannon, both of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren, Bryan Duggan, Erin (Bob) Brown, Casey Duggan, Molly (Dan) Rosteck, Brennan (Kayla Robson) Duggan, Sean (Nicole) LaCoste, Shane LaCoste, Haley Cannon, John Cannon and Bridget Cannon; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Cawelti of Cedar Falls.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tom Cannon; and a sister, Patricia Pendergast.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue at the church for an hour before services on Wednesday.
Memorials may be directed to the Friendship Village Auxiliary, St. Edward Catholic Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
