Lavon "Bonnie" Hall, 90, of Montezuma, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Aug. 28, 2016, at Montezuma Specialty Care in Montezuma. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
Lavon "Bonnie" Geraldine Hall, the daughter of Lester and Hazel Englebarts Hall, was born Nov. 4, 1925, at her farm home in Bear Creek Township in Malcom, Iowa. She grew up and attended country school through the eighth grade near Malcom. Her mother passed away at an early age and she became the caregiver to her younger brothers and sister. Bonnie then moved to San Diego, Calif., and lived with her sister, Nellie. She later moved to Plano, Texas, and lived near her nieces before moving back to Montezuma to be near her sister, Donna Watson. Bonnie was a very strong willed and determined person. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Malcom and attended many of her nieces' and nephews' school and church activities.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marlin Hall, Dean Hall, Larry Hall, Nellie Powell and Donna Watson.
She is survived by her brothers, Jack (Linda) Hall of Brooklyn and Arlo (Sandy) Hall of Des Moines, as well as many nieces, nephews and many friends.
