LaVerne E. "Lee" Herb, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar
Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Phylis, whom he married Aug. 7, 1965, in Cedar Rapids; a son, Joe; a daughter, Vicki Miller; five grandchildren, Jacob, Ashley, Aiden, Cailea and Sophie; three brothers, Don (Betty), Jim (Maxine) and Duayne (Deb); sister-in-law, Barbara Dittmar; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Lucille.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie; a brother, Dan (Betty Lou); niece, Tami; grandparents; brother-in-law, Louie Dittmar; and fathers-in-law, Clyde and Jack.
Lee was born July 2, 1944, in Shellsburg, and graduated from Jefferson High School. He worked at Vigertone, Rockwell-Goss and retired from CEI.
He enjoyed working on his 1934 Chevy Hot Rod, camping, boating, traveling, fishing and hunting.
Lee will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Luke's Hospice.
