Laurita M. Gatrelle passed away, family by her side, Thursday, January 23, 2025, in Cedar Rapids.
Visitation and funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 22nd at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, 211 21st Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 am with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 am. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am.
She was born July 7, 1944, in Prairie Du Chien, WI, to Lawrence and Violet (Young). Laurita worked as a Clerk for Linn County Motor Vehicle Registration in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for many years. She belonged to St. Ludmila Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and helping with the Kolach festival. Laurita loved fishing on the Mississippi River and gardening. She loved to spend time with her family, especially grandchildren and was loved by all.
Laurita is survived by her children, Michael (Tina) Hendrickson of Prairie Du Chien, WI. Gary Hendrickson of Denison, TX, Jill (Greg) Brown of Overland Park, KS, Eileen (Jeff) Hardman of Marion, IA, Richard (Mandy) Gatrelle of Marion, IA, Alexis (Robert) Benion of Cedar Rapids, IA; 15 grandchildren,7 great-grandchildren, Siblings, Damaris Pintz, Kevin Graap, Mark Graap, Todd Graap; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary R. Gatrelle; her parents Lawrence and Violet Graap; and siblings Patsy Graap and Larry Graap.
Memorials may be given to St Ludmila Catholic Church.
