Laurel Rose "Lori" Preston, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully in her home on Jan. 18, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Arrangements were entrusted to Cedar Memorial.
Survivors include husband, Craig Preston of Cedar Rapids; son, Glen (Tracy) Dargy of Shellsburg; mother, Betsy Walsh of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Paul Walsh of Cedar Rapids and Kelly Walsh of Marion; niece, Sarah Walsh of Marion; grandsons, Noah Dargy of Columbia, S.C., and Seth Dargy of Shellsburg; and granddaughters, Hanna Dargy and Faith Dargy, both of Shellsburg. She also is survived by many other nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law; and her beloved pets, Willow and Samantha.
She was preceded in death by her father, Laurence Walsh; her brother, Donald Wasielewski; her daughter, Stacey Doolittle; her granddaughter, Grace Victoria Dargy; her aunt, Rosemary Chamberlin; her father- and mother-in-law, Derwon and Marjorie Preston; and her sister-in-law, Joanne Walsh.
Laurel Rose Preston was born June 22, 1950, in Chicago, the beloved daughter of Laurence F. and Betsy E. Steinberg Walsh. She married Craig on April 16, 1983, in Missouri Valley, Iowa. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA in Lori's honor.
