Laura Henkel, 43, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, May 28, 2015, while working at Pioneer Park Care Center in Lone Tree. A memorial gathering will be from 1 until 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at the Lone Tree
American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her mother, Judy Albaugh, 631 S. Cedar St., Monticello, IA 52310.
Surviving are three children, Shianne, Alex and Adam; a grand-daughter, Isabella (Goose); her mother, Judy; and four siblings, Larry Henkel Jr., Joseph Mull, Kathy Navarro and Karla Moravek.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Gary.
Laura graduated from Lincoln High School in Stanwood in 1989 and had started working as a CNA while in high school. She was employed at the Mechanicsville Care Center and Clarence Care Center before moving to Lone Tree, where she had been working at Pioneer Park as a CNA.
Laura will be forever missed by her family and friends.
