Laura Lee Hawthorn, 50, of Manchester, Iowa, died Saturday, May 19, 2018. Memorial gathering: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester.
Laura was born Jan. 3, 1968, in Sacramento, Calif., the daughter of Carol Ann Staton. She lived most of her life in Manchester. Laura was a very loving, generous person who cared for others ahead of herself. She enjoyed long naps after joint committee meetings, gardening, IDTV and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Laura is survived by her children, Misty Racz of Hillsboro, Texas, Rachel Montes (Jeffrey Harbaugh) of Dubuque, and Tiffany Montes (Joseph Rogers), Malachi Montes and Buddy Lee Montes of Manchester; her mother, Carol Ann Staton of Manchester; siblings, Jeffrey (Steph) Hawthorn of Kansas and Gail Hawthorn of Manchester; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her best friend, Donny Martin, in 2014.
