Laura Kaye Easter of Des Moines passed away peacefully in her sleep May 20, 2017, at her home in Cedar Rapids.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Cedar Rapids. Details will be announced at
a later date.
Laura was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to James "Jim" and Kathleen "Katie" Easter on Dec. 9, 1960. She attended East High School in Des Moines and received certification in nursing assisting and went on to work as a nursing assistant for many years. She was passionate about liberal progressive efforts, enjoyed sewing, writing, photography, traveling to the ocean, and being a loving mother and grandmother.
Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen F. Easter; brother, William J. Easter; and grandparents.
Laura is survived by her father, James C. Easter; sister, Beth Easter-Pion; her three daughters, Erin Easter, Janna Chestnut and Eleighcia Easter; her grandson, Brantley James; two nieces and two nephews.
