Lathan, Dennis Dean 'Denny'
Dennis Dean “Denny” Latham, 51, died Jan. 14, 2013, in his daughter's home in Viola. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Dennis was born May 15, 1961, in Oelwein, the son of Duane and Rosemary (Harkin) Latham. He married Rebecca Clothier on Feb. 28, 1981, in Cedar Rapids. He worked as a route driver and part-time cook. Denny enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, going mushrooming, as well as time spent with his friends and family, especially the grandkids.
Denny will be remembered for being a great dad, exceptional grandfather, loving son, brother and husband and will be greatly missed.
Denny is survived by his wife, Rebecca Latham of Springville; daughter, Jessica (Dennis) LaKose of Viola; son, Jared Latham of Springville; mother, Rosemary Hartley of Springville; brothers, Donald (Sandy) Latham of Oelwein, David (Rachel) Latham of Oelwein, Daniel Latham of Marion and Douglas (Judy) Latham of Toddville; sisters, Susan (Den) Denny of Springville, Sandra Lange of Stone City and Andrea (Ben) Baily of Oelwein; grandchildren, Austin, Jayden, Brendan, Dawson, Rian, Carson, Alexis, Dillon, Jace and Johanna; a great-grandbaby on the way; and close friends, Big Dan and Zac.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Duane; his sisters, Kathie Waite and Michelle Ohl; and a nephew, Jeremy Latham.
