Lasanen, John A.
John A. Lasanen, 62, of Cedar Rapids, died in June 2010, in Cedar Rapids. Peterson Funeral Home of Calumet, Mich., is assisting the family with funeral arrangements, which will be held at a later date.
He was born June 1, 1948, in Hancock, Mich., son of Wesley and Florence Lasanen, of Big Traverse Bay, Mich. John graduated from Lake Linden Hubbell High School, Lake Linden, Mich., in 1966. He was employed at Copper Country Dairy for two years following high school graduation, and then he moved to Cedar Rapids to take a job with the Square D Co. John retired after 39 years from Square D on Jan. 28, 2008.
John is survived by brothers, Robert (Debbie) of Cokato, Minn., Dennis (Sandy) of Big Traverse Bay, Mich., Raymond (Cherie) of Calumet, Mich., and David (Linda) of Traprock Valley, Mich.; sisters, Ann (Ken Helminen) of Calumet, Mich., Judy (John Kilpela) of Chassell, Mich., Jean (Bill Dunstan) of Houghton, Mich., and Mary (Les Brewer) of Calumet, Mich.; brother-in-law, Wilbert Limanen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding John in death were parents, Wesley and Florence; and a sister, Sharon.
