Lasack, Mark V.
Mark V. Lasack, 60, of Lisbon, formerly of Oxford Junction and North Liberty, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 28, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Oxford Junction. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the church. Burial will follow at Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, with military honors accorded by Oxford Junction American Legion Post 473. Lahey Funeral and Cremation Services in Oxford Junction is assisting the family with their service.
Mark was born April 29, 1951, in Davenport, Iowa, to Otto and Janice (Wosoba) Lasack. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1969 and from Kirkwood Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in electronic communications. He then served six years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a sergeant in microwave communications.
He was a 34-year member of Wapsie Post 473 of Oxford Junction. Mark worked 30 years for IBM and then four years for Ricoh/Infoprint Systems.
On Nov. 25, 1989, he married Marsha Feuss at Sacred Heart Church in Oxford Junction. They lived 13 years in North Liberty before moving to Lisbon.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha; a son, Alan (Maisie Woodward) Lasack of Lisbon; a daughter, Becca Lasack; a brother, Ken Lasack of Oxford Junction; two sisters, Jeanine (John) Schwab of Durand, Ill., and his twin Myrna (Mike) Wernimont of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Joseph; and two great-nephews.
Memorials are preferred.
