Larson, Warren H.
Warren H. Larson, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, in St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Delpha Mae Larson; his daughters, Barbara A. Izer of Iowa Falls and Betty A. Barnard of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arnold and Glenn; and two sisters, Ilene and Luella.
Warren was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Clayton County, Iowa, the son of John and Gina (Smerud) Larson. He married Delpha Mae Hagensick on Dec. 3, 1940, in Farmersburg, Iowa. When Warren was young he started farming. In 1952, he and Delpha Mae moved to Cedar Rapids. He then started building homes, retiring in 1991. In 2011 they made their home at Evergreen Estates III.
Warren enjoyed bowling and fishing in his free time.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice, the Emergency Room and 5th floor staff at St. Luke's Hospital and all the loving care from the staff and friends at Evergreen Estates III.
A memorial fund has been established by the family in lieu of flowers.
