Larson, Robert Paull
Robert Paull Larson, 86, of Red Oak, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, in Fort Dodge. Services were Feb. 15 at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak.
He will be greatly missed by his six children, Vergie Francksen, Daryle Larson, Evelyn Garten, Janine Larson, R. Mike Larson and Andrew Larson; a brother, Gordon Larson; a sister, Nancy Larson; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Marie James Larson on Jan. 27, 1996; his parents, Andrew and Gladys; a brother, Donald Larson; and a sister, Mary Anne Decker.
Robert was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Ishpeming, Mich. He married his wife of 50 years, Iva Marie, on July 8, 1945, in Red Oak, Iowa. Bob was a private investigator, handwriting analyst and questioned document examiner, serving in many court cases. He also owned and operated a photography business, Les Burianek, in downtown Cedar Rapids and worked at KCRG-TV9 for many years before retiring and moving to Red Oak.
