Larson, 'Jody'
“Jody” Larson, 84, of Northport, Fla., went to her Heavenly Home on Friday, July 15, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private family memorial service will be held. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Doreen Joyce Larson was born July 11, 1927, to Alexander and Jennie (Stothers) Ogston in Chilliwack, Canada. She was united in marriage to Richard Larson on Dec. 28, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minn. Jody earned her M.A. in library science and was an overseas missionary, devoted teacher, and enthusiastic children's librarian. She had a lifelong passion for books, gardening, and the protection of animals.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Scott (Gail) Larson of St. Louis, Mo., Vicki (Mike) Brooks of Cedar Rapids, Meg (John) Diehl of Austin, Texas, and Joseph W. Larson; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her children, Richard and Jennifer.
