Larry L. Sellers, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Aug. 24, 2016, at his home. Memorial services: noon Saturday, Sept. 10, at Teahen Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to noon Sept. 10 before the service at the funeral home.
Larry is survived by three daughters, Penny (Chris) Stewart of Denmark, Renee Butts and Kelli (Josh) Rozendaal, both of Cedar Rapids; a son, Jason Butts of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Jacob Hogberg of Burlington, Brodey and Logan Huffman of Denmark, and Anaysia Perkins, Jaylen Butts and Emma Rozendaal, all of Cedar Rapids; great-grandson, Colin Hogberg of Keokuk; one brother, Jimmie Sellers of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Dorothy Pugh of Oskaloosa and Ann Dale of Wever; and father-in-law, Richard Davisson of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy; parents; five brothers, Donald, Chester, Marvin, Robert "Bob" and Raymond; and two sisters, Mildred Dannels and Viola Fowler.
Larry Lee was born June 24, 1942, in Delta, the son of Melvin and Letha Harvey Sellers. He graduated from Delta High School in 1960. Larry married Marilyn Martin on Dec. 10, 1964, they later divorced. He married Cathy Butts on Dec. 31, 1993. She died Aug. 5, 2015. Larry was an electrician, working for Union IBEW 13 and 405. He retired in July 2007.
Larry was an avid NASCAR fan, hunter, fisherman and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He could spend hours watching John Wayne movies and enjoyed collecting John Wayne plates. Larry was a very loving grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Larry loved all kinds of sweets, but cookies were his favorite.
