LARRY D. PARIZEK
Clutier
Larry D. Parizek, 76, of Clutier, died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Dysart United Methodist Church, with military rites conducted by Clutier American Legion. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at National Cemetery, Vining, following the funeral lunch. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the church.
He was born Feb. 27, 1940, the son of Leo and Anna (Vileta) Parizek. Larry graduated from Dysart High School in 1958, worked at J.W. Musel and Son in Chelsea, served in the U.S. Army National Guard and then began farming. He had a special love for cattle. On June 19, 1965, Larry was united in marriage to Doris Marie Neil at Fairbank United Methodist Church in Fairbank.
Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards with friends at Card Club and in Elberon, fishing at the pond and raising pumpkins.
Larry participated in several community organizations: Farmers Mutual Insurance, Tama County Cattlemen, Tama County Board of Review, Tama County Fair Board and National Cemetery Association. He was a member of Dysart United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Karen Parizek.
Larry is survived by his wife; three daughters, Carol (Tony) Kramer of Nisswa, Minn., Karla (Ted) Koehler of Monticello and Kalyn (Don) Putz of Dysart; two brothers, Leroy and Wayne (Judy) Parizek, both of Belle Plaine; and nine grandchildren, William, Michael, Tyson, Eileen and Jackson Kramer, Lauren and Leah Koehler and Krystal and Kendall Putz.
Memorial donations may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice, Dysart United Methodist Church or Relay For Life.
