Larry W. Mullen, 64, of Camanche, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Camanche Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry McElroy, Bob Ketelsen, Dave Drury, Randy Brekke, Greg Thurman and Al Vozenilek. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Larry William Mullen was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of George William and Mildred (Rallie) Mullen. He was a 1971 graduate of Camanche High School and attended Colorado Aerotech School for airplane maintenance training. He married Kathleen Conzett in 1984 in Clinton. Together they had one child, Eric, and later were divorced.
Larry worked as a millwright for many years. He later worked for Genencor and General Mills in Cedar Rapids as a maintenance planner. He enjoyed many things, with music being his passion. Larry always had several projects going and loved working with his hands. He was an avid tinkerer. Mostly he loved time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Eric, of Cedar Rapids; girlfriend, Dana Gilbert of Camanche; ex-wife and lifelong friend, Kathleen Mullen of Alpharetta, Ga.; one brother, Richard Mullen of Corvallis, Ore.; one nephew, Connor Mullen of Corvallis; his stepmother, Alice "Lynn" Mullen of Camanche; and several cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Mullen, and mother and stepfather, Mildred and Peter Venema; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the family, who would like to make a contribution to the activities at Platte Park in Camanche.
