Larry L. Scheib went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 1, 2023, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at Radiant Church on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, his body has been deeded to the Des Moines University Department of Medicine & Health Sciences.
Larry is survived by his wife Dee Ann; siblings, Bud (Ann) of Georgia, Lyle of Texas, and Faith (Tom) Kincheloe of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell and JuNean Tracy of Wyoming, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the U.S. Larry will continue to be in our hearts and memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Esther Scheib; brother Mike, mother-in-law Esther Womachka; several aunts and uncles, and his beloved cats Cinder, Mitzer, Ebony, Zorr.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and techs at St. Luke’s Older Adult Unit (1st Floor West) for their dedicated and compassionate care over the last two months, and to the staff and caregivers at Country House. The family appreciates the prayers, kind words, and help given by many good friends, neighbors, and caregivers.
Memorials in Larry’s name may be directed to the family to be used to support animal organizations.
