Larry Karl Hines, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Inurnment has taken place at the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Larry was born on March 18, 1942, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Herbert and Dorothy (Doud) Hines. He graduated from Springville High School. Larry served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict from May 22, 1961, to May 22, 1968. He was united in marriage to Patricia Cyphers on April 6, 1963, in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family at their cabin in Waukon. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and the love he shared with those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Hines of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two daughters, Karla Kelley of Cedar Rapids, and Cindy (Chris) Bebber of Fairfax, Iowa; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosie (Don) Sieck-Miller and Sandy (Wes) Bender; a brother, Terry Hines; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donny and Mike Hines; and a son-in-law, Devin Kelley.
