Larry Grant Lloyd, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Trailridge, located at 4300 Trailridge Rd. SE. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is handling Larry's arrangements.
Larry was born Aug. 7, 1939, in Iowa City, the son of Orville and Arlene (Johnson) Lloyd. He graduated from Mount Mercy College with a degree in sociology, later continuing his studies at the University of Iowa. Larry owned and operated the Window Man Glass Company. In later years, he owned Grandpa's Handyman Service. He enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music, and tending to his plants and cats, as well as spending time with loved ones. In the '60s and '70s, he loved spending time in Laguna Beach. The time spent with his family was very important to Larry.
Larry is survived by his children, Donna (John) Sutton-Shaw, Todd (Toni) Lloyd, Lucianna (Andrew) Mills-Rice and Vinny (Katie) Lloyd; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Penny (Bud) Scolaro, Judith Bunn, Sandy (Monty) Rierson, Sharon (Monti) Barton and Kathy (Mark) McCalley; and his brother-in-law, John Serbousek; as well as his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Ron Sauer; his sisters, Connie Broderson, Rhonda Newman and Louretta Serbousek; and an infant brother, Newton.
