Larry Dean Gorsch, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with the funeral being held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Born Dec. 16, 1944, in rural Millersburg, Iowa, he graduated from Deep River-Millersburg in 1962. He worked at Amana Refrigeration and Longview Fiber. He was united in marriage to Anne Hartmann in 1965 in Cedar Rapids. He then joined the Navy, serving two years active duty and 20 years in the Naval Reserve. Larry served the Lord faithfully at First Assembly, Cedar Rapids, and made several mission trips to Mexico and Central America. He also volunteered for several other organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sharon; two grandchildren, Claire and James, all of Ventura, Calif.; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marilyn; and brother, Bobby.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
