LARRY RALPH BURCK

Larry Ralph Burck was born Aug. 21, 1938, near Millersburg, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Bertha (Tish) Burck. He graduated from Millersburg High School in 1956. On Oct. 11, 1980, Larry was united in marriage to Maxine Elaine Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millersburg. He owned and operated Burck Tire Co. Inc., retiring in 1995.
Larry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. He loved going to the casinos, playing cards and spending time with his family. He never knew a stranger.
Larry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, and friend to all, passed away at Mercy Iowa City with family by his side on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at age 79.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine of Williamsburg; three daughters, Debra (Bob) Schmidt of Deep River, Deb Miller of Deep River and Shelly Reiten of North Liberty; two sons, David of Deep River and Dan (Kris) of rural North English; 10 grandchildren; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Taylor of Des Moines.
He was preceded by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
A general memorial fund has been established.
His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
