Larry A Rogers, 78, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at UIHC.
A private memorial service for the family will be held in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life for family and friends is planned for next spring. The time and date will be shared once determined. Larry donated his body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Bird House Hospice Home of Johnson County or Iowa City Hospice. Larry was born May 17, 1944, in Iowa City, the son of Elmer and Velma (Frantz) Rogers. He was a1962 graduate of Regina High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa.
On Aug. 2, 1969, Larry married Mary Ellen Donohue.
Larry was the human resources manager at the University of Iowa Facilities Services for 27 years. He retired in 2001. Larry cherished the time spent with his family. He loved to travel especially to Tucson where he and Mary Ellen escaped the Iowa winters.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; two children, Angela Rogers (Jeff Albright) of Coralville and Jason Rogers of Bettendorf; six grandchildren, Zach, Paige, Chloe, Olivia, Abby and Kellan; his brother, Maynard Rogers; sister-in-law, Esther Rogers; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Joan and Kenneth; and sister-in-law, Colleen Rogers.
