Larkin, Mrs. Roy (Violet)
Mrs. Roy (Violet) Larkin, 103, of Green Bay, Wis., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.
She was born Jan. 18, 1909, in Waubeek, Iowa, to John F. and Jessie (Swaim) Jellison. Violet was employed at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids. On May 27, 1933, she married Roy Larkin. Roy was a master sergeant for the U.S. Army which happily brought Violet and him to Texas, Massachusetts, Louisiana and Missouri during his career. Roy preceded her in death in 1957. Violet made her home in Green Bay in 1962. The most important part of Violet's life was her family. She loved to keep up with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she never forgot a birthday or anniversary.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Larry Zambrowicz; four grandchildren and their spouses, Linda and Steve Rudolph, James and Rachel Zambrowicz, John and Shelly Zambrowicz and Joseph and Cheri Zambrowicz; her great-grandchildren, Kristin (Russell) Laursen, Adam (fiancee, Megan) Rudolph, Andrew (Stephanie) Rudolph, Heather (fiance, Justin) Zambrowicz, Holli Zambrowicz, Hillary Zambrowicz, Alec Zambrowicz, Emily Zambrowicz and Justin (Arlena) Peterson; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Brent Nelson and Brady Nelson; her great-great-grandchildren, Jack Laursen, Aaliyah Zambrowicz and Phoenyx Peterson; stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Shannon and Taylor Schultz; a half brother, John (Lavon) Jellison; her foster son's wife, Carol Ricklefs, and her family; a sister-in-law, Emily Larkin; and many extended family members, nieces and nephews.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents and stepparents; her husband, Roy; an infant sister; her dear sister, Fern (Anson) Burlingame; a foster son, Gaylord Ricklefs; sister-in-law, Opal (Art) Bliobenes; and three brothers-in-law, Mark (Carrie) Larkin, Cleo Larkin and Gene (Celeste) Larkin.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, Wis., from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1. The funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Commissioned Lay Pastor Max Ballard officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

The family extends a special thank you to the many wonderful caregivers that allowed Violet to accomplish her wish to stay in her home, especially Kim, Hillary, Sandy and Lois. Thank you also to the staff of Unity Hospice, especially Cathy. Thank you to Lay Pastor Max Ballard for his regular visits and spiritual guidance.
