Lanoue, Laura A.
Laura A. Lanoue, 78, of North Liberty, died Friday evening, Feb. 12, 2010, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Solon, with the Rev. David Wilkening officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 3 to 6 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Church.
Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City.
Laura was born July 19, 1931, in St. Joseph. Kan., the daughter of Jeremy and Anna Tramblay Couture. Laura married Andre Lanoue in St. Joseph, Kan., on Nov. 23, 1949. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Laura was a member of St. Mary's Church in Solon, Helping Hands, the Diocesian Council of Catholic Women and the National Catholic Society of Foresters.
Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Laura is survived by her husband, Andre of North Liberty; their three children, Greg (Kimberly) Lanoue of St. Louis, Mary Sauers of North Liberty and Michael (Nancy) Lanoue of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Mae LeDuc of Concordia, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary; one son-in-law, George Sauers; and two sisters, Rozella and Zelma.
