Keystone
Lanny L. Selk, 76, of Keystone and formerly of Dysart, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Dysart United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Linda Butler officiating. Interment will be in the Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. A memorial fund has been established.
Lanny was born Oct. 16, 1941, to Louis and Flossie (Rippel) Selk on the family farm near Keystone. He graduated from Keystone Consolidated Schools in 1959. He was united in marriage to Betty Blazicek at the Presbyterian Church in Vinton on April 6, 1963.
Lanny farmed in the Keystone and Dysart areas for many years. He was a member of the Keystone Turners, and enjoyed horses, bowling, camping, tractorcades and playing Sheepshead.
Lanny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty of Keystone; children, Wayne Selk of Keystone and JoLynne Selk of Marion; his brother, Lynn (Brenda) Selk of Keystone; and his sisters, Lavonne Henkel, Nadine Fisher and Joann (Larry) Walker, all of Vinton, and Diane (Richard) Hegarty of Elberon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ila Mills; and brothers-in-law, Myron Henkel, Richard Fisher and Dale Mills.
