Lanham, Robert 'Bob' Wayne

Robert “Bob” Wayne Lanham, 79, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Kirksville, Mo., passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 5, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral services were Sept. 9 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville. Burial: Park View Memorial Gardens, Kirksville.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert B. Lanham and wife Joleen of Loveland, Colo., and Nicholas W. Lanham of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Marsha Woods of Cedar Rapids and Kathy Schupp and husband Cliff of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Chad Hutton, Scott Schupp, Casey Schupp, Danielle Butera, Mallory Lanham, Emma Lanham and Candice Schupp; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Schupp, Hunter Schupp and Gavin Schupp; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jo; his parents; two sisters, Crystal Jones and Jean Gregory; and one brother, Charles Lanham.

The son of Robert F. Lanham and Lola Neagle, he was born Jan. 20, 1930, in West Grove, Iowa. On Sept. 29, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lura Jo Logston.

Bob attended the West Grove and Kirksville schools. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in Germany. He worked as a furniture salesman while living in Newton, Iowa. He then worked in Lyons and around the state of Colorado as a carpet installer until retirement.
