Langton, Georgia Marine
Georgia Marine Langton, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center on Saturday, July 20, 2013. Services: 9 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Claire Leonard. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her children, Patricia (Scott) Canterbury, Richard (Diane) Langton Sr., and Lawrence (Pam) Langton, all of Cedar Rapids. and Charles (Debra) Langton of Ely; nine grandchildren, Patricia Andersen, Richard Langton Jr., Deanna Langton, Monica Wincentsen, Marcus Langton, Melanie Sundstrom, Angel Thompson, Austin Canterbury and Aaron Canterbury; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Cris Leonard, Betty Langton and Shirley Langton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; two brothers, Clarence and William Leonard; and three sisters, Louise Cones, Frances Minor and Geraldine Cupp.
Georgia was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, to Bert and Grace Kilts Leonard. She married Glen Langton on July 23, 1949, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1999. Georgia loved camping, crafts and sewing. After retiring, she and Glen spent winters in southern Texas. Georgia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
