Lange, Alice
Alice Lange, 86, died Tuesday at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday morning, Feb. 11, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 9:30 Saturday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services.
Surviving are her sister, Lois Menkemeller, Monticello; a nephew, Rob Menkemeller of Scotch Grove; and a niece, Lynn Lais of Bloomington, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Gladys.
Alice Amelia Lange was born March 5, 1925, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Mabel (Vasey) Lange. She received her education in the Timber School near Scotch Grove. Alice later worked at the button factory in Monticello. In 1954, she moved from Scotch Grove to her home in Monticello. Alice was employed at Collins Radio for over 30 years. She retired in 1987. Her health resulted in her move to the care center in 2009.
