Lang, Neil Jack
Neil Jack Lang was received by our Lord on June 16, 2013, after a brief illness.
He was born April 24, 1930, to Walter and Velma Lange. He spent 55 wonderful years married to Ellen Lang, who passed away in 2006.They resided in California for several years, and upon her death he relocated to Iowa to be closer to family.Neil was in the United States Marine Corps, retiring after 21 years of service, at the rank of gunnery Sergeant E7.He served several tours abroad, including Korea and Vietnam. After the military, he worked for the Postal Service.
Neil is survived by his four children, Daniel N. Lang of Missoula, Mont., David (Ann) Lang of Georgetown, Calif., Marguerite (Larry) Carman of Center Point and Kathleen (Stan) Sanders of Donaldson, Ark.; his two sisters, Jeanne (Fred) Kuehn and Marilyn Thomas, both of Berkley, Mich.; and his 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Lang; son, Donald Lang; father, Walter Lange; mother, Velma Thompson;sister, Sue Knight;and his two brothers, Junior Lange and Arthur Lange.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital, especially those working in CCU and hospice; also the Urbana and Center Point EMTs.
Neil will be laid to rest next to his loving wife in Mount Vernon Memorial Park, Fair Oaks, Calif., at a later date. A private gathering will be held later this week in Neil's honor by close friends and family.
