Lang, Madge
Madge Lang, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was born Madge Louise Vale in Metcalf, Ill., on Aug. 20, 1920, the daughter of Arthur and Mattie Vale. She married Donn H. Lang on Aug. 30, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. She was proud to be a Pythian Sister since 1959 where she was a past supreme representative. She was also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Donn and Madge had three sons, Phillip (Sheryl), Michael (Susan) and Mark (Judith); all of whom live in Cedar Rapids. Her grandchildren are Jason (Carrie) of Athens, Ga., Bradley (Tamra) and Daniel all of Cedar Rapids, Brenda (Pete) of Chicago, Brandon (Lori) of Kansas City, Mo., Amber Guck (Jeremy) of Cedar Rapids and Matt Crandall of Center Point. Great-grandchildren include, Carson and Scarlett Lang, Daniel Nelson, Harrison and Regan Lang, Savanna, Hunter and Alex Crandall and Avery and Austin Guck.
Madge is beloved by her husband of 71 years, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed her family most of all and hosted many holidays and events.
