Lang, Edwin A.
Edwin A. Lang, 77, of 3904 Blue Mound Dr. NE, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at hospice in St. Luke's Hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Pastor Tim Endecott will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 12:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
Ed fought the good fight and has now finished his race. He was a man of few words but many actions, always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family but they rejoice in the knowledge that they will see him again in God's Kingdom.
Ed is survived by his wife of 48 years, Willigene; one daughter, Christy of Cedar Rapids; one son, Kurt (Kristi) of Harrisburg, Ore.; three grandchildren, Nicole, Jordan and Korban; two brothers, Walt (Mo) Lang of Green Valley, Ariz., and Marvin Lang of Goldendale, Wash.; three sisters, Dorothy Becker of Zillah, Wash., Linda Roedel of Seattle, Wash., and Liz (George) Corey of Howard City, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Fay (Ken) White of Gilbert, Ariz., and Gwen (Jerry) Franks of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Alice Lang.
He was employed by Rockwell-Collins for 27 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Church of God (Seventh Day) in Marion, Iowa. He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.
