Lamparek, Kaye 'Lumpy' Allen
Kaye “Lumpy” Allen Lamparek, 58, of Swisher, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, with the Rev. Tom Carver presiding. Burial will follow in Castek Cemetery, near Swisher. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel.
Kaye was born March 24, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leonard and Grace (Kroul) Lamparek. In his early years, he farmed and raised registered Shorthorns cattle, where he showed state and national champions. He also collected some classic cars. Kaye was a contract mail truck driver for Hoovestol Inc. for many years. He enjoyed working on his Harley and riding with his friends, yearly deer hunting trips with his close friends, taking care of the pond he built and spending time with his family.
Kaye is survived by his mother, Grace Lamparek; a brother, Kevin (Sara) Lamparek; a sister, Ronda (Ron) McNeal, all of Swisher; nieces and nephews, Mike (Kim) See, Michelle (Bob) Foss, Nick Lamparek and Scott Lamparek; a great-nephew, Cody See; an uncle, Leo Lamparek; an aunt, Sadie Feye, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as numerous cousins.
Kaye was preceded in death by his father, Leonard; grandparents, Ben and Anna Lamparek and Charles and Martha Kroul; two uncles, Ivan Lamparek and Dale Feye; and an aunt, Leota Lamparek.
