Lammers, Nadine
Nadine Lammers, 93, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Rockwell City, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, by Father Tom McDermott. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Graveside service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Cemetery in Rockwell City. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Golden Buckle Apartment Community Center in Rockwell City. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
Nadine Elizabeth (Rafferty) Lammers was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Boone, Iowa. She married George Joseph Lammers Sr. at Carroll on April 21, 1941. They made their home in Rockwell City, where George worked as a shoe repairman and upholsterer, and Nadine was a nurse. They were active members of St. Francis of Assisi in Rockwell City.
Survivors include four children, Martha, George, Warren and Alice; 15 grandchildren: and a great-grandchild (with two more expected).
Nadine moved to Cedar Rapids in 2010 for residential care near her family.
Memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in memory of Nadine.
