LaDonna J. Seeks, 94, a resident of Summit Pointe Senior Living in Marion, died there on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include a son, John (Sally), and a daughter, Janis Krsek, all of Marion. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Jean Arnell, Pat Miller and Dorothy Wooldridge; and two brothers, Hugh and Bob Rick.
LaDonna was born Oct. 20, 1919, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Hugh and Julia Cessna Rick. She married Darrell E. Seeks on Nov. 30, 1941, in Cedar Rapids. Darrell passed away in 1995.
LaDonna was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, gardening and raising flowers. She was an accomplished baker and was famous for the delicious pies she baked. LaDonna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
