Ladehoff, Virginia
Virginia Ladehoff, 87, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. The Rev. Reed Stockman will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.

Surviving are five nieces, Judy (Ted) Krouse, Vickie (Gary) Dippel, Mary Fall, Linda (Jerry) Cassidy and Dolores (Gene) Pipkin; one nephew; Steven Ladehoff; eight great-nieces and eight great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; and two sisters, June Plueger and Geraldine Farrington.
Virginia Charlotte Ladehoff was born March 26, 1922, in Scribner, Neb., the daughter of Raymond and Sylvia Miller Wright. Virginia was baptized and confirmed on May 30, 1943, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Monticello. Virginia Wright and Dale Ladehoff were united in marriage on Nov. 29, 1944, at St John's in Monticello. Dale passed away June 30, 2002. She was a 1940 graduate of Monticello High School. Virginia was an elementary schoolteacher in Scotch Grove in 1940 and an inspector with Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids during the war years. She was appointed postmaster on Feb. 20, 1971, having worked before as clerk in charge since Jan. 17, 1969, and a temporary clerk since 1950.
She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
