LaDean Ann Osterkamp (Wessels), 87, of Anamosa, passed away at the Hiawatha Care Center on April 8, 2014.
LaDean was born in Amber, Iowa, on Oct. 22, 1926, to Rinnie and Anna Wessels. She married John H. Osterkamp in May 1944. The married couple spent the majority of their happily wedded years in Jones County.
LaDean worked most of her career at the Anamosa Hospital and offices of Dr. Brown and Dr. Bailey. She and John owned and operated Clover Farm Grocery and L & J Art Shop in Amber before their retirement to Casa Grande, Ariz., where they managed a RV park for 10 years.
LaDean was a member of several organizations: Pythian Sisters, Amberettes, Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Anamosa Hospital Auxiliary, Paint and Pallet and several bridge clubs.
LaDean is survived by four children, David (Patti Ferguson) of Aurora, Ill., JoDean (Harley) Reth of Monroe City, Mo., Von (Hal) Sandage of Kansas City, Mo., and Jon (Angie Catlett) of Monticello; sister, Clarice Norton of Anamosa; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers, Harry, Bill and George.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lawrence Community Center in Anamosa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Hiawatha Care Center Activities Department or Jones Regional Hospital Auxiliary.
