Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church in Oxford, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m.
Adeline Marie Fisher was born Oct. 1, 1918, at their family home in North Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Drtina) Fisher. She was united in marriage to Earl F. Kutcher on April 15, 1936, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford. The couple made their home in Oxford, where they raised their family. Adeline was a hard worker; she worked alongside of her husband when they owned a farm, she not only cared for her family, but she worked outside the home doing housecleaning for many families in the area. She cooked in restaurants in the Oxford area, and had worked at the Holiday Inn in Coralville. Many will remember that she enjoyed cooking and baking; she was asked by many to bake her pies, kolaches, and other baked goods for special occasions for family and friends for years!
Another of Adeline's passions in life was tending to her gardens, both flowers and vegetables, always taking great pride in these, and again many enjoyed the fruits of her labors. But most dear to her was her family, she loved being mom, grandma, and great-grandma to her family, nothing in her life brought her more happiness than this!
She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Her family includes her four children, James “Jim” F. Kutcher (Pam) of Homestead, Larry M. Kutcher (Colleen Jones) of Center Point, Rita M. Kutcher of Libertyville, Ill., and Marie A. Taylor (Robert Kalous) of Oxford; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Baker of Des Moines; sisters-in-law, Rosie Fisher of Cedar Rapids and Marcella Fisher of Cedar Rapids; and brother - in-law, Raymond Kutcher (Loraine) of Iowa City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; grandsons, Dean and DeWayne Shock; sisters, Agnes Detert, Emily Barta, Georgia Klouda, Eleanor Shramek, Libbie Fisher and Alma Riddle; and brothers, Edward, Bill, Frank, and Leonard Fisher.
A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
