Kurtz, Lurinda 'Rin'
Lurinda “Rin” Kurtz, 54, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at her home north of Independence following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at St. Patrick's Church in Winthrop. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday at Fremont Township Cemetery, north of Winthrop. Visitation: 3 until 8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday at Fawcett Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Winthrop.
Surviving family includes her life partner, Chris “Gumby” Murphy of Independence; three daughters, Heidi Magsamen and Heather (Neil) Eager, both of Independence, and Erin (Matt) Kratochvil of Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren, Annabelle, Amelia, Claire, Christopher, Samantha and Emma; her parents, Bill (Mary) Kurtz of Winthrop and Carol Kurtz of Independence; her sister, Kenda (Delbert) Thompson of Winthrop; and her golden retrievers, “The Boys” Chance and Lucky.
