Kurt A. Neuhart, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2018.
Kurt was born July 17, 1961, in Great Lakes, Ill., the son of H. Craig and Cheryl (Herrick) Neuhart. As a son of Navy parents, he grew up in San Diego, Calif. After the passing of his mother, his father met and married Puaena Naeole, and his family moved to Molokai, Hawaii, where he finished high school. After graduating, he returned to Iowa to be closer to his family in Washington, Iowa, and Farmer City, Ill. In October 1996, he married Kelly Kruger in Las Vegas, Nev., surrounded by 48 of their closest friends and family. Kurt worked as a skilled union Terrazzo mechanic; he was very proud and enjoyed his work. He was a history buff and knew a little about everything. He loved and appreciated good music. He treated others with respect and acceptance. If he knew you, you were a friend and he would do anything for you. He loved riding his motorcycle. You could always find him in the front of the group. He was happiest when spending time with his granddaughters. He always had words of wisdom and a life lesson to discuss with them. The girls thought he knew absolutely everything. Charlie will always possess the skill of rolling cigarettes by hand thanks to grandpa.
His family includes his wife, Kelly; stepdaughter, Holly Kuboushek (Jake); granddaughters, Charlie, Harper and Quincy; brothers, Chris Neuhart (Tere), Kip Neuhart (Andea) and Eric Neuhart (Arinee); nieces and nephews, Justin (Nanea), Christyn, Kyra, Kili, Kaitlyn, and Kekoa and Hans; great-nephew, Peyton; and Kurt's stepmother, Puaena Neuhart.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, H. Craig and Cheryl Neuhart; as well as his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
