Kurt A. Klosterman, 53, passed away on Dec. 21, 2021, after complications from heart failure.
A private service for immediate family was held at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Kurt was born in Delaware County, Iowa, on Jan. 22,
1968, the son of Richard and Joyce (Deutmeyer) Klosterman. As a child he grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Edgewood-Colesburg High School in 1986. Kurt had a lengthy career at General Mills in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Kurt met the love of his life and married Kimberly Schloeman on Oct. 30, 2015. Kurt always loved animals since he was a child when he had a favorite dog named Yo Yo. He is survived by his cats Angel, Squeakers and Caboose. He was known as a quiet, kind and compassionate man and would do anything for anyone.
Kurt's hobbies included attending car shows and showing his 1992 Chevrolet Camaro, riding motorcycles and ATV's, jet skiing, hiking in parks, kayaking, playing the drums, going to aquariums and beaches, watching movies, listening to rock 'n' roll music and spending time with family and friends.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Kimberly; his mother, Joyce Klosterman-Brennan of Cedar Rapids; his brothers, Kevin (Elaine) of Greeley and Ken (Diane) of Cedar Rapids; his sisters, June (Denny) Stepanek of Manchester, Sandy (Jim) Barrett of Ellenton, Fla., Kim Klosterman of Cedar Falls and Judy (Tim) Wessels of Manchester; plus numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Richard.
The family wishes to thank all the providers who cared for Kurt at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, especially Dr. Law and, most recently, the staff with Mercy Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Saint Rescue and Adoption Center or University of Iowa Abboud Cardiovascular Research Center . Cards and memorials may be mailed to Kimberly at 1730 Pikes Peak Ct. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402.
