Kuperman, Boris
Boris Kuperman, 93, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, in Iowa City. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at Agudas Achim Congregation, 602 E. Washington St., Iowa City. Burial will follow at Agudas Achim Cemetery, Linder Road, Iowa City.
Boris, a holocaust survivor, was born April 16, 1917, in Lodz, Poland, to Samuel and Eva Kuperman. He was married to Donna Belepolsky until her death in 1994. Boris was a model father, mentor, and a super hero to everyone he befriended, which was everyone he ever met and interacted with. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always did what he could to make the world a better place.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nina (Steven) Frankel of Bettendorf; sons, Dr. Samuel Kuperman (Marjorie) of Iowa City and Michael Kuperman of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Lisa (Doug) Pearce, Todd Frankel and Mark Frankel, Doctors Ethan (Kristin) Kuperman and Joshua Kuperman; and Rachel (Luke) Garnaas, Adam Kuperman and Jake Kuperman; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Steven Pearce, Jacob Frankel and Alexa Frankel.
A special thank you goes to all of the special people affiliated with Oaknoll in Iowa City and other caretakers who cared for Boris as they would their own family members.
