Kula, Jean D.
Jean D. Kula of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab. Funeral mass: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David Beckman. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil; sister, Patricia Bockenstedt of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; brothers-in-law, Ron Kula, John Kula and Richard Kula, all of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jean was born April 30, 1926, in Fairfax, to Raymond and Geraldine Hofferd. She married Virgil Kula on May 1, 1954, in Cedar Rapids. Jean worked for Rockwell Collins for many years, retiring in 1972.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
