Kucharski, Caroline L. (Garlock)
Caroline L. (Garlock) Kucharski, 75, of 190 Ryecroft SE, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church. Monsignor Charles Lang and the Rev. David O'Connor will officiate. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with a wake service beginning at 6:30 p.m., and one hour before service time Thursday at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughter, Kathryn Mary Kucharski of Boston, Mass.; two sons, Michael Robert (Kelle) Kucharski of Marion and David John Kucharski of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, Kathryn, Ryan, Staci and Devin Olson; a sister, Kathleen Garlock and brother-in-law, Richard Gilson, of Madison, Wis.; brother-in-law, John Radler and wife Lillian of Summerfield, Fla.; brother-in-law, Russell Kucharski and wife Boksoon of Milwaukee, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Garlock; a son, Mark; and a sister, Joan Radler.
Caroline was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wis., to William and Elizabeth Schneider Garlock. She graduated from Marquette University, Milwaukee, in 1956, with a degree in medical technology. She married Robert Kucharski on May 5, 1962, in Wauwatosa, Wis. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1974.
Carol was active at All Saints Catholic Church and a longtime member of St. Monica's Circle, where she held several officer positions. She was a longtime member of Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary as well as a past president of that group. She was also a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
Carol was a wonderful mother and wife and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
